Can I hold an item via phone or email?

No.  All holds and subsequent purchases from our sales floor must be done in person on the day of the sale.

Can SWAP deliver my purchase to me?

SWAP can only deliver to UW departments and we will only drop your items off on the loading dock or inside of a doorway in instances you do not have a dock.  We DO make arrangements to ship online auction purchases via UPS with the purchaser paying all shipping costs.

How long do I have to pick up my purchase?

Store purchases must be picked up within two business days of purchase unless prior arrangements have been made with a Store Manager.  Purchases not picked up on time will be placed back on the floor for resale.  For items purchased on Tuesday, you have until Thursday at 4pm to pick them up.  For items purchased on Friday or Saturday, you have until the following Tuesday at 4pm to pick them up.

There will be no refunds, exchanges or credits given for items placed back on the floor.  Online auction items must be paid for within 5 business days of winning-bidder notification and picked up within 5 business days unless prior arrangements have been made with SWAP staff.

I work for a department or non-profit.  Can I make personal purchases on Thursdays?

No.  All purchases on department and/or non-profit sale days must be for the department or non-profit organization you are representing.

Do you accept donations or drop-offs from the public?

No.  Everything for sale at SWAP has been purchased using State, Federal or Grant monies.  No items can be donated from public entities or persons.

Can I be on an "alert" list to let me know when a specific type of item becomes available?

No.  Every sale through SWAP must be done through a competitive process where everyone has an equal chance at purchasing.  Alerting individuals would constitute preferential treatment.

Does SWAP work with schools and municipalities?

Yes!  We encourage schools and municipalities to save money by purchasing furniture, equipment and supplies from SWAP.  Anyone with permission from a school or municipality can come and shop with us Monday-Friday from 8am-4pm.  If arriving on a day the SWAP doors are not open (Mon/Wed) please go to the reception area at the far right of the building and tell them you are looking to shop with SWAP.  The person at the desk will bring you back to the store.
